What I learnd

For the presentation, we had to use tox town. Tox town helped us out for our presentation because it gave us facts about BPA. A lot of facts were very helpful. At the end of our presentation I learned a lot about BPA and how it had harmful affects. In Pete's presentation I learn that Coca Cola is very corrosive, and very acidic. From other presentation we learned that water bottles don't decompose for 800 years. Water bottles are very dangerous for the environment. Using reusable water bottles would be a safe rout. Also the chemicals in the plastic water bottles can make your breath smell bad. People think that your tap water is dirty and not healthy, but actually the water that is from your tap is cleaner than pool water. Water that is put into water bottles is usually water from a tap.

Weekly blog #11

This week we have three different speakers come talk to us about water. For one speaker, we had to visit a water treatment plant. The guy walked us through all the buildings for the different steps of cleaning the water. Only 8 of us went of the field trip, while the others stayed behind and either worked on the art poster, or listened to the other speaker who came in. These speakers were supposed to give us information to help us with our presentation that is due Tuesday. My groups presentation is almost complete. We're nervous for the presentation.

Weekly blog #10

This week we walked down to the Bark river and did water tests to see how clean the river was. After doing the water tests we had to carry a gallon of water back to school. We're lucky that we don't have to walk to the river every day to get water for school activities. In art we started to make a poster that advertises our association. My group is still working on our presentation for social studies. We are having a little bit of a hard time figuring out what we're supposed to present. Hopefully we'll do ok.

Weely blog #9

This week was OK. In art our group almost finished our video. If the video turnes out nicely it will be sent to different schools for the 8th graders to watch. We also started to move Of Mice and Men. So fare the movie is really good. There are some parts in the movie that weren't mentioned in the book, and there are also parts in the book that weren't mentioned in the movie. In science I think we are starting to learn about the periodic table again. Lake Country school had to learn about it last year, and memorize some of the elements on the table. Hopefully we won't have to memorize and more elements. I don't know what we're doing in Social Studies. Hopefully no more projects for a little while.

Weekly blog #8

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Finally its come! Short week with a long weekend! This wonderful short week of ILA was good. In social studies we had to look up different countries and how rivers and oceans effected how long they lived and how many people lived in that country. Yesterday in ELA we did a timed writing thing.... It wasn't fun. Today we have to preform our science skit. I'm nervous I don't do well in front of large groups of people I don't know. On my way down to Tennessee I have to finish Of Mice and Men, answer all the questions, do quotes, and explain what themes appeared in the book. I also have to finish Socail Studies. Its gonna be a long car ride to Tennessee, so hoping I can get it all done.

Last week in ILA my group and I were working on our science skit. Our skit talks about a sceince guy names Borh. Matt made the model for the skit since he wont be here to proform the skit with the group. In Socail Stidies we're still working on the Think globally and act locally. I have to find maps that mark rivers for Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. After finding the maps i have to do a correct sitation. In ELA we just started reading Of Mice and Men. I think this book is one of the first books that I'll actaully read all the way through. Its not that bad of a book. Im on chapter three right now. Excited to read chapter four.

Weekly Blog #6

This week in ILA we had to read a packet on Women's rights, and different races not being able to go to school to learn a basic education. In Social Studies we're doing a project that makes us act locally and globally. We have to look up which Assembly and Senate districts we live in. In science we're still learning about crystals and how they form. This all comes together in social studies which is the structure of government, ELA, structure of sentences, science the structure of a crystal, and art the structure of a clay object.

Weekly blog#5

This week in the academy we learned many different things. We learned about sentence fragments, we're making crystals in science, and we learned structure of the constitution. Making the crystals is actually really cool. We finished our constitution, which turned out pretty nice.
We're starting a new book in English and I'm kinda excited. Some of my friends already read the book and said it was OK. We're also starting a new project in social studies, but I don't really get it. I don't know what else to talk about. But looking forward to this week in ILA.

Weekly blog #4

This week in the Academy was short. My partner and I did our presentation. I think we did really good. I had a lot of fun presenting, I actually knew what I was talking about. After our presentation was over with the school board got to ask question and my partner and I answerd all the question. I was proud! If the teachers asked me if I would do another presentaion I would probably say yes. I think that presenting is a lot better then writting a letter. I think I learned a lot more do a prezi then I would have writtig a letter. When doing a presentaion you actually have to remember what your learning, when writting a letter you can just jot it down and then forget about it because its written down on a peice of paper. I was really excited for the weekend tho! I got to go to Georgia! Long car ride but in the end totally worth it.

Weekly blog #3

Well this week went really slow..... to slow. My partner and I finished our video for our project testing thing, then my new partner for one to one pretty much have our presi done for the presentation. We're worried to present it in front of the school staff or whatever because we're not that good at presentations. Oh well... We'll do ok.
We took a re-take test on Friday and I know I didn't do as well as I did on the first one we did. Im getting stressed out by all the projects we're doing in ILA. We have the whole presentation, and then for Socail Studies were making a constitution for a country (which I dont get why). It makes me a little frustrated because I want to do good on the 1:1 presentation, but then we have the socail studie stuff to. Whatever I'll have to get over it. I can tell its gonna get a lot worse in the future. I love doing projects, but sometimes it gets stressful. But its still fun!

     This week was a short and fun week. We went to the apple store. That was the highlight of the week! I has a lot of fun at the apple store. I learned more about the new program Icloud, and learned more about the mac book air and the ipad2. The ipad2 has a battery life of 10 hours while the mac book air has a battery life of 5 hours. It was a good week. Hopefully this week will be fun as well.

Ok.... I dislike doing weekly blogs. I alwaays forget. I also always forget to do my boring Achives. I'm so busy with everything else that I always forget! Now I'm stuck doing them.
 This week in the acadmy was fun. It got a little boring when we had to work on our project for a long time. In the end, the project is finally done! It feels good to finally finish something that you worked so hard on! Hopefully it gets a good grade, because I think it looks amazing! One thing that I was kinda worried about was the "test". It wasnt that hard, but I'm not good at test. So if I think I did good, I could get it back and have a terrible grade.
 In the end, this week was fine.
