Biography

I'm Rachelle Anne Cabral. I was born in the Philippine's with my family of four. My mothers name is also Rachelle, my fathers name is Simon, and I have one brother. My brothers name is Robert. I was born in 1985, and my brother a year after me. My father died when I was 14 years old. My father was my best friend. He was the one who thought me how to shoot. After my father died, it was hard for my family to make ends meet. I had to forget about archery and start working. I worked at a market with brother while my mother worked at a different market. I worked for a couple years, and finally my family had luck on their side. My great grandpa had passed away and we inherited his money. He was a rich old man! My mom told me that I should take up archery again, I told her that my dream was to be a professional archer. My mother and father always told me to follow my dreams.
A couple years later I went off to collage. I was still doing archery. I was requited by this woman names Marie. She said that she could teach me great things. To this day she is still my coach and I thank, and owe her a lot. I had the chance to go the Olympics because of her. My coach and I were really excited to be able to travel to Beijing to compete against different Counties best competitors. I did not win a gold, silver, or bronze medal, but I got 4th. My coach was extremely proud of me, I was extremely proud of me. The other archers were amazing, I did not bother me that I didn't win, I was grateful to be in Beijing. This year in 2012 going to London will be exciting! Hopefully I will do better than 4th! Watch out London, here I come!

I think that making a video is a lot easier than taking a test. I'm not good at taking tests, so making a video really let me understand the chapter easier. I also think using www.goanimate.com was easy to use and it was kinda fun to play with. The only thing that kinda sucked was the video couldn't be longer than 2 min.

Weekly Blog #3

If I was Xiaochun I don't really know how I would handle the situation. I think that Xiaochun handled his situation pretty good. He made the right decision to stay and keep learning. If you love something so much you shouldn't let it go, because you might not ever get the chance ever again. If I were Xiaochun, I think I would stay and keep playing, but  I wouldn't want my family to leave, I would have to have my family there with me.
The decision Xiaochun made was difficult, but there were a lot of pros to it. Some of the pros were that he was able to do what he loved, and that he got to preform in front of a lot of people. Whenever theres pros theres cons. Some cons were that his dad didn't have a job so he really couldn't pay for a really good teacher, and the dad also couldn't pay for a nice house.
In the end Xiaochun made the right decision, stay and keep playing.

In Romeo and Juliet a fight accrued in act one scene one. A fellow swung his sword and the rule is, a force in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted upon by another force. When the sword was swung it did not stop until it hit another object, making it stop because another force was acted upon. This rule in Physics can also be ralted to Scial Studies. Water will run down stream until it hits land or a dam to make it stop. It also relates to people. People would migrate to a cost where water was located, so people would stay in motion until another force (water) is acted upon the people. Physics can be found in everyday life, weather is be Social Studies, English, or just swinging on a swing.

Weekly Blog #1

Whats your normal day in school? Is it just sitting in an uncomfortable desk listening to a teacher talk, and you taking notes? That's not much fun at all. I love the integrated learning academy because I don't sit in a deck for an half hour or longer, and just take notes. In ila we don't take many notes. The teachers give us projects that we need to use our brains for. We need to try to intertwine English, Social Studies, and Science in to one project. We've done projects like, making the design of our room that we now work in. Another project called one to one computing, we're you had to talk about which computing device best suits one to one computing. For these projects the students are usually allowed to pick how they want to set up the project. If they want to use power point on google docks, prezi, or any other presentation device.
Not only do we do projects, but we also have taken field trips. A couple field trips we've taken are going to the apple store to test out their equipment, and going to a sewer treatment plant to see how our water is cleaned. These field trips helped us out for the projects that followed the field trip.
Next year the rumor is that ILA will not be available for Sophomore and will only be available for Freshmen. I'm defiantly sad about this because I think that ILA has helped me see how to connect these subjects into one. I love that I get to work on projects with my friends, and that I get to learn in a way that I want to lean.Tho sometimes we sit in a class room for an extreamly long period of time, that's  school. You just have to deal with it.

weekly blog #13

This week in the Academy, we talked more about our final exam. The teachers talked about that even tho we had a final exam project, their still giving us a short final exam test. In science we did an experiment where we took elements and held them over a flam and observed what color the flam changed. Today in art we'll be working on and probably finishing out water color Wisconsin painting. The painting is supposed to be a landscape picture of a place in Wisconsin. The class is supposed to paint the picture in water colors. In art we also are learning about hoes, and how do darken, and lighten the color with out using black or white.

weekly blog #12

This week in the academy we talked about our final exam project. We had to type up a short paragraph talking about what we're going to research, and how it connects to all the subjects. We also did a activity in science that dealt with the periodic table. The activity gave you a blank periodic table, and you fill in elements from a alian planet. In English we talked about commas, semi colons, and colons. Ms. Miller gave us notes about all of them, then when we thought we got where, and when to use them we took a test on them. In art we're starting to do a water color painting of a Wisconsin picture.
